At Lift Newlands, we use Lego Therapy as a structured, therapeutic intervention to support students’ social communication, emotional regulation and relationship-building skills. Delivered through our Learning and Behaviour Support Team, Lego Therapy provides a safe, engaging and purposeful environment where students can develop teamwork, turn-taking, problem-solving, communication and resilience.
Sessions are tailored to students’ individual needs and may be delivered as targeted small-group interventions or alongside wider pastoral and therapeutic support. Through collaborative tasks and clearly defined roles, students build confidence, strengthen peer relationships and develop the social and emotional skills needed to thrive both in school and beyond.

At Lift Newlands, ELSA support provides a safe, nurturing space for students to explore their emotions, build confidence and develop strategies to manage challenges. Our trained staff member offers 1:1 and small-group emotional literacy sessions, both planned and responsive, helping students to understand feelings, strengthen relationships, improve self-esteem and return to learning feeling calmer and more regulated. Support may take place in classrooms, breakout spaces or wellbeing areas, depending on what each student needs in the moment.
