We utilise a tiered model to provide Local Authorities with a clear breakdown of how fees are calculated. This ensures that out-of-borough placements are funded fairly and sustainably.
Tier 1: Core Education Base (£26,000)
This is the baseline cost for a specialist placement, aligned with the National Price Band for specialist education. This covers teacher salaries, curriculum delivery, and core school operations.
Tier 2: SEMH Specialist Premium (£10,000)
This premium funds our on-site Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), which is essential for maintaining a safe, trauma-informed environment. This is a fixed cost based on our £739,200 annual investment in specialist non-teaching staff across 70 places.
- Our MDT includes: Lead SENCo, Speech & Language Therapist, Art Therapist, Learning Mentors, Specialised TAs, and Premises Safety Management.
Tier 3: Bespoke High-Needs "Top-Up" (Variable)
Case-by-case funding for requirements explicitly mandated in a child's EHCP that exceed standard specialist ratios (e.g., 1:1 or 2:1 staffing).
Tier 4: Alternative Provision (Pass-Through)
Where a pupil requires external Alternative Provision (AP) as part of their bespoke package, costs are treated as "Pass-Through" from the provider. Lift Newlands applies a 10% Administrative & Safeguarding Oversight Fee to cover daily attendance monitoring, site visits, and quality assurance.
